Cecil Cloyd Haffelfinger

Cecil C. Haffelfinger, beloved husband, father and papa, completed his earthly journey very peacefully on February 9th, 2021 surrounded by his family. He began his earthly sojourn on September 15, 1925 in Hempstead, Texas. He was the youngest of six children born to Walter L. and Nancy Ann Haffelfinger (Cloyd). Cecil attended public school in Hempstead graduating in 1943. He immediately enrolled at Texas A&M before entering the military in December 1943 where four brothers were already serving. He was trained in communications at several locations in California prior to shipping out to the South Pacific. All five brothers were defending our nation on foreign soil. Cecil was injured on Leyte Island in the Philippines in June 1945 and returned to the US where he spent several months in McCloskey General Hospital in Temple, Texas. Cecil received an Honorable Discharge in October 1945. With encouragement from the Lord and from his mother, Cecil became a student of Abilene Christian University in September 1946. In 1949 he graduated with a BS in Business and a double minor in Bible and English. He soon began preaching by appointment before entering into full-time ministry with the churches of Christ that lasted almost 62 years.

Robert Franklin Harris, Jr

Robert Franklin Harris, Jr, 71, died of COVID-19 in The Woodlands, Texas, on February 5, 2021. Robert celebrated his first birthday and learned to walk at a cabin in Eagle Rock Ranch in Wimberley and then spent all of his growing up summers there. That September in 1950 his parents, Bob and Dorothy Harris, purchased a two-bedroom log cabin as the new summer home for the family to get away from the polio epidemic in the Houston area. Today the fifth generation of the family still loves that cabin and considers it their second home. Robert was the person who kept the ancient plumbing, wiring, etc functioning and he loved every minute in Wimberley.

Sylvia Furtick

Sylvia Furtick was a dynamic, enchanting and brilliant force of nature who died peacefully in Argyle, Texas on January 27th, 2021 of natural causes. Sylvia is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Don Furtick; son Ronald Furtick and his two children Yasmin Morrison and Richard Furtick; daughter Serra Smith, her husband Doug, and their three sons, Evan, Eli and Eamon.

Donald Alvin Dibble III

Donald Alvin Dibble lll was born in Houston, Texas, on September 18th, 1940 and passed away on February 5th, 2021. Don was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Navy from 1962 -1971. After his discharge, he completed his education and graduated from his most beloved University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Allan Edward Pevoto

Dr. Allan Edward Pevoto, age 84, son and brother, much-loved husband and father, generous grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home in San Marcos, Texas. His loving wife, Barbara, was by his side as he went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was loved and admired by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob Jeffers, faithful husband, father of five, grandfather, great grandfather, naval aviator, airline pilot, fisherman and golfer, died on January 21st in San Marcos, Texas. He was 89.

Pamela Cordray

Pam Cordray, 67, passed away peacefully in her home in Wimberley on January 20, 2021, due to complications from her nearly 40- year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Baytown, Texas, graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and attended Lee College. She was a member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Charles Augustus Davis III

Charles Augustus Davis III, passed away January 26, 2021 in Lakeway, Texas. He was raised in Washington State, worked in aviation in Fairbanks and Juneau, Alaska, and was a longtime Texas resident, working in Midland for 35 years and retiring to Wimberley.

Lee Gibson

Carol Lee Baker Gibson, 77, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
