Catherine Pape

On Friday, July 16, 2021, Catherine Pape, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully in her home in the hours just before twilight with her loved ones close by. Catherine was born on September 24, 1951 in Seattle, WA to Bruce and Yvonne Ingalls. She graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1979 and she went on to work as a statistician in D.C. and the surrounding area for 20 years. After retiring, Cathy moved to Wimberley, TX in 2001, where she met the love of her life, Peter Pape, whom she wed on July 2, 2005. “Pedro and Cat” had so much fun together and saw the extraordinary in daily life. They loved to travel far and wide or simply lounge in the river close to home on hot summer days and watch the fireflies come out at night. They found joy in each other and shared many happy years together. Catherine loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and a good adventure. She had a particular fondness for gardening and would often produce some of the most gorgeous sunflowers. Catherine loved art and was a talented crafter of gourds and lovely watercolor paintings. Cat had a quick wit and a wild sense of humor. She loved to share a good laugh and conversation with her loved ones. Cathy welcomed all into her home like family and was known as “Aunt Cathy” to many. Catherine is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, whom she adored, Donald and Connie Boche, her beloved husband, Peter, her daughter and grandchildren, Jessica, Sophia and Darek. She is survived by her sister and brother, Tom and Shirley, her children, Jessica, Michael and Jennifer, her darling grandchildren, Kyla, Kristen and Evan, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in Texas and Montana. She was loved and will be greatly missed!
