Jean Ladon Shand

Jean Shand of Wimberley, Texas passed away on May 2, 2021, at the age of 88. Jean was born in Sherman, Texas on April 14, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Edward, parents Jacqueline and Joe Dan Akridge and her great grandson Tysen Russell Shand. Jean is survived by her children, David and Kelley, her grandson David Jr. and wife Amber, two great grandchildren Bostyn and Brody, and her sister Sandra.

Michael Steinert passed away on March 13, 2021 after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer and leaves an empty space in the lives and hearts of his family and many close friends.

Joy Lane

Joy Lane, of Wimberley,Tx, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 31st, 2021, two weeks after her 94th birthday. Joy died peacefully, with her nieces at her side, after a one week cancer diagnosis. She faced her fate with her usual grace and dignity. She was able to come home to her beloved Wimberley for her final journey.

Faith Arlene Brown

Faith Arlene Brown passed away on April 10, 2021 in Las Cruces, NM. Faith has always followed her dreams, was very supportive of her friends and family and community. She was a counselor, partner and friend, a great daughter, sister and aunt. She was a beautician in Wimberley with Mrs. May’s, a student at south west Texas university(Texas State), worked many years with Texas Girl Scout Council, received her Master of Science/professional counseling from Grand Canyon University and was a licensed Mental Health Counselor at Golden Willow Counseling. She volunteered at La Pion’ in southern New Mexico and served on her church board. Faith was preceded in death by Ronald C. Brown her father, Bobbye J. Brown her mother, Daphne A. Brown her sister and Ronnie W. Brown her nephew. She leaves behind many survivors that loved her dearly. They include her spouse and sister and Brother, spouse, Kaye Crady, sister and brother Janiece A. Brown of Wimberley, Chess A. Brown of Wimberley. She also leaves behind loving nieces and nephew Ariel Brown, Chelsea Brown, Chase A Brown, Victoria Brown, Hannah Brown, Jessica Druehl, Celeste Brown and Great nieces Raeleigh Brown, Preslee Brown and Brynley Brown. Her Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on May 2nd 2021 at the Pavilion, 103 Mill Race Ln, Wimberley, TX 78676 from 2:00pm- 4:30pm. All friends and family are welcome to come celebrate. Upon Faith’s request all are to come in casual attire, have fun and play games.

Thomas Robert Swenson

Thomas Robert Swenson, 63, passed away at his home in Wimberley on Saturday, April 10th, 2021. Thomas, a Houston native, was a nearly 40 year resident of Wimberley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Effie Mae Swenson. He is survived by his brother David and by his brother Douglas and wife, Debra. He is also survived by his niece Ashley Haeger and husband Adam, and their children Lucas, Landon and Logan. No funeral service will be held due to the pandemic.

Stephanie Faith Abbott

Stephanie “Steff” Faith Abbott passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas. Born April 12, 1956 in Jasper, Indiana, she grew up in Otwell, graduating from Jasper High in 1974. Steff often stated, “a kid couldn’t ask for a better place to grow up- we got to play out in the countryside all day long.”

Solon Byers Williams

In the summer of 1951, God brought a new life, a little boy named Solon, into a loving family. As his life began, God gave him a checklist of things He wanted Solon to accomplish while here on Earth. God taught him, loved him, showed him how to love others and helped him do those things. On Friday, April 2, 2021, Good Friday, Solon accomplished all He was created to do here on earth and it was time for the next step, so God gently and quietly took him to Heaven.

William Buchanan Kipe, “Buck”, 79, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 25, 2021 in Buda, Texas. He was born February 27, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Harry William Buchanan Kipe and Virginia Adelle Rinker Kipe.
