Correction

In the November 12 issue of the Wimberley View, the story “Purple Hays shades blue” failed to include multiple local election totals in the printed edition of the paper. For the city of Woodcreek, Bob Hambrick defeated Chrys Grummert with 561 votes to 432 votes to secure the one-year term. For Wimberley ISD, Lexi Jones defeated Gretchen Holtsinger with 3,954 votes to 3,734 votes. For the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, Linda Kaye Rogers defeated Mark Key 2,325 votes to 1,926 votes.

MGA Club Championship

The annual Men’s Golf Association Club Championship Tournament was played on the Quicksand Golf Course November 7-8. The 2020 Men’s Golf Association Champion is Trent Adare (left). Trent won the two day tournament with an eight over par 152 from the championship tees. The 2020 Senior Champion, Roger Jones (right) scored eleven over par 155 from the white tees.

COVID-19 through the eyes of a local doctor

“Some feel pressured to choose a side in all of this. You either believe in masks or you believe in opening businesses and schools. This doesn’t make any sense,” Wimberley EMS Medical Director Steven Moore, MD, said. “If you wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice social distancing, then you are doing what you can to ensure that businesses and schools open responsibly.”

Amy Cox has the heart of a Lion

If you’ve ever met Amy Cox, she is someone hard to forget. You can find her hanging around Market Days making sure things run smooth at Hamburger Hill. She is the second Vice President of the Lions Club, on her way up, and she’s also Marketing Director. It is a big job, but she finds time to do other things to help the Lions move forward in helping the community.
