Woman arrested on multiple charges after suspicious vehicle call on Square

A woman was arrested on multiple charges after the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a suspicious vehicle call in Wimberley.

Officials said HCSO deputies responded to the 13700 Block of Ranch Road 12 — the Wimberley Square — to a suspicious vehicle call on Oct. 15 at approximately 4 a.m. The sheriff’s office stated that upon arrival deputies ran the license plate which returned stolen out of Austin.

The deputies contacted the sleeping occupant identified as Dionne Episcopo of Austin. Deputies were able to see inside of the vehicle and observed numerous items fitting the description of items that had been stolen in a burglary of a habitation that occurred on Oct. 14, 2020, in the Wimberley area. HCSO stated that Episcopo was arrested for possession of the stolen license plates and transported to the Hays County Jail. Hays County Sheriff’s Detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. The items located were confirmed to have been stolen and returned to the owner. The burglary is still under investigation.

While conducting the search, detectives also located a bag containing over 70 forms of identification such as W-2s, driver’s licenses, social security cards, passports, etc., belonging to numerous different victims, narcotics, and forged checks, officials said.

Additional arrest warrants are pending for Episcopo for fraudulent use of identifying information, a first-degree felony; forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony; tampering with a government record, a state jail felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony.

The sheriff’s office stated that, on Oct. 16, a burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 100 block of Oak Drive Wimberley that occurred on Oct. 14. A surveillance video was obtained of the suspect. A warrant for Episcopo for burglary of a vehicle, a Class A Misdemeanor, was obtained and is pending.
