Turkey Trot goes virtual for good cause

This Thanksgiving, instead of gaining weight at the food table, how about whetting your appetite with a little exercise before the feast and helping out Operation Good Shepherd at the same time?

“Operation Good Shepherd is a benevolence fund and an effort in town of the Ministerial Alliance blessing families and individuals in town who are in need with funds dispersed through the Barnabas Connection.

“The Turkey Trot is needed as usually funds are gathered at the Thanksgiving services (for OGS), but with Covid we decided to do a virtual Turkey Trot. We hope it will be a successful, fun event that can be held even next year,” said Pastor Jose Abaroa of Cypress Creek Church. OGS provides financial assistance to help Wimberley Valley residents with rent, utility bills, medical and transportation needs.

The 5K run and the 1K walk for kids can be a fam ily fun Thanksgiving tradition.

How does it work? First of all, it is all virtual, with everyone staying safe far from a crowd. Here’s how.
