Wimberley’s Lady Texans softball team participated in the Ingleside Tournament on Friday and Saturday where they achieved a perfect 4-0. The Texans largest win was two runs as they won two games by two, and two games by a single run.
On Thursday the Wimberley Texans baseball team (22) participated in a Round Rock Independent School District’s Legends Tournament where they finished 0-2 after starting the season off with a win.
On Tuesday the Wimberley Texans (18-14) had a chance to defend home court against the Young Men’s Leadership Academy Lions (14-15) in the first round of playoffs and did exactly that. They came out and made a statement in the first round of playoffs and won 88-47 to advance to the second round of playoffs and capture the Bi-District Championship.

Wimberley made history last Tuesday night as the Lady Texans defeated the La Vernia Bears 46-43 to capture the Bi-District Championship in Seguin. The victory was the first time Wimberley had won in Bi-District round of the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
On Tuesday The Texans went on the road to Davenport (26-8) to take on the Wolves to play in their last district match and game of the regular season. Wimberley came into this game on a 3-game winning streak but couldn’t continue the momentum as they came up short to the Wolves, losing 76-65.
WHS Soccer Girls Top Fredericksburg 5 to 2
The Wimberley HS swim team traveled to San Antonio on January 19th for the District 14-4A Championship meet. This year WHS only fielded a girls team and competed against swimmers from Comal Davenport, La Grange, Comal Canyon Lake, and Hallettsville. Despite having no seniors on the team, the girls competed admirably, finishing second in the team standings and qualifying for regionals in seven individual slots and three relays. (Top-four finishers in each event at District qualify for regionals.)

THE DRIPPING SPRINGS FLAMES DEMONSTRATED
The Texans played one game this past week on Friday against the Navarro Panthers (719). The Texans went on the road and dominated, winning 76-41 in a big must-win game to keep their playoff hopes in sight. Five Texan players finished the night with double digit points as Ethan Sharpe had the hot hand finishing with 23 points on just thirteen shots, Paul Gumbert followed up with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists in a near triple double.
On Tuesday The Lady Texans had an off day but they scheduled a non-district home game against the Burnett Lady Bulldogs (26-8) who are currently first in their district. Things got chilly down the stretch as it was neck and neck the whole way that saw Wimberley fall short at the last second, losing 46-51.
