After a more than impressive season, the Wimberley Lady Texans found themselves 2nd in district with a 32-7 record good enough to give them a first round playoff game at home against the Gonzales Lady Apaches on Monday night.
The Wimberley High School Texans (9-0) went to Austin to take on the Austin Achieve Polar Bears (2-7) Friday night. With a perfect regular season on the line The Texans didn’t play around for a second going up 42-0 at the end of the first quarter and taking the game 70-6 at the final horn finishing the season 10-0.
In the second game of the annual Battle of the Backbone, Wimberley High School ended the regular season with a sweep of the Canyon Lake Hawks as the Lady Texans rolled 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-12).
The Wimberley Texan football team clinched their third consecutive district championship with a 34-22 victory over the Lago Vista Vikings.
For the second time in three years, the Wimberley High School Team Tennis squad has advanced to the UIL 4A state tournament.

A project of the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance, the three-day event drew in musicians, songwriters, storytellers, filmmakers, chefs, plein air painters and history enthusiasts to celebrate the story in all of its many forms.

It didn’t take long for the Wimberley Texans to take control of the game versus the Manor New Tech Titans.
In the start of the second round of district play, the Wimberley Lady Texans swept the rival Fredericksburg Lady Billies 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-19).
Last Friday’s game between the Wimberley Texans and the Jarrell Cougars started off with a bang. The Cougars struck first on a huge touchdown play just seconds into the ball game to go up 7-0. They also scored the last touchdown of the ball game. Everything in between was Texan football at its finest.
Wimberley High School rounded out the first round of district play as the Lady Texans defeated rivals Navarro and Canyon Lake High Schools to sit firmly in second place. The Lady Texans improved their record to 25-6 overall and finished the first round of district play at 5-1. In the game on Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Lady Texans squared off with rival Navarro in a battle of stateranked teams and for sole possession of second place in the district standings.
