Texans clinch playoff berth

Wimberley is back in the playoffs following their win over Bandera and despite their loss to Fredericksburg. 
The Texans at 20-7-2 for the season and 5-3 in district play with one week remaining in the regular season. 
Wimberley started the week on the road as the Texans took on the Bandera Bulldogs. 
The Texans started off hot by loading up the bases before Reagan Kenley hit an RBI triple to score the first runs of the game in the top of the first. 
Payton Wharton then hit an RBI triple of her own to score Kenley as the Texans took a 4-0 lead. 
Wharton later scored on a wild pitch before the Texans loaded up the bases once more. 
Ansley Davis drew a bases loaded walk to score another run, extending the lead to 6-0. Morgan Smith scored on a wild pitch before Emorie Gahan hit an single in left but an error scored two more runs for the Texans who led 9-0. 
Bailey Wright hit an RBI double before an RBI single by Ella Patek made it an 11-0 lead. 
An error by Bandera scored another run for the Texans before an RBI double by Wharton made it a 13-0 game. 
Smith continued the Texans offensive tear, hitting a two-run RBI double before a sacrifice fly by Davis extended the lead to 16-0. 
Wright cleared the bases with a three-run home run followed by a solo home run by Patek as Wimberley’s lead grew to 20-0. 
Wharton hit an RBI double before the Texans scored again on a fielder’s choice. 
Meadow Cryar added the final run for the Texans in the top of the first with an RBI double as Wimberley led 23-0. 
Bandera scored three runs in the bottom of the first but the Texan offense attacked again in the second. 
Two bases-loaded walks by Patek and Kenley scored two more runs as Wimberley led 25-3. The Bulldogs scored one run in the bottom of the second but it wasn’t enough as the Texans won 25-4. 
Returning home, the Texans faced off with the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies. 
The Billies scored three runs in the top of the first before scoring another run in the second to lead 4-0. 
Wimberley loaded up the bases with two outs before Gahan, Wright and Patek each drew a bases-loaded walk, making it a one-run game at 4-3. 
The Texans later tied the game at 4-4 following an RBI single from Gahan. 
The Billies answered by scoring three runs in the top of the fifth before the Texans looked to make their comeback.
In the bottom of the sixth, Gahan hit an RBI single to put runners on second and third with no outs. However, the Billies turned a 6-5-4 triple play to end the Texan at-bat. 
In the bottom of the seventh, Wimberley made it a one-score game as Grace Strobel hit an RBI single, making it a 7-6 game. The Texans looked to score more but the Billies got the final two outs, ending the game. 
Wimberley is back on the road at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against New Braunfels Long Creek before hosting Davenport at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the final home game of the season
