Reporting on Walt Smith DWI ‘Yellow Journalism’

This weeks Wimberley View { 9/15/22 } on the lower front page is far from NEWS. Writer Nick Castillo’s report is dated from an event 17 months ago, not yet adjudicated about a political servant not even serving our immediate political area, but rather an adjoining precinct where voters are qualified to vote for this position representative.

The story offers absolutely no NEWS value? It is a pale attempt at insulting readers supporting Hays County Commissioner Smith by its dated origin of 17 months ago, with beginning events, while it winds it way through the Travis County Court process, just how convenient this NEWS comes 8 weeks before the General election, how opportunistic it feeds his opponent to scoop this into political fodder. The only missing component is a booking mugshot, then it would fully qualify as plain old Yellow Journalism. But not all is lost, here i have used this reporting as Cat box liner, a fitting end, the cat knows how best to close out this useless waste of resources.
