LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Dear Hays County Residents,

Please know that there are folks living, working, and visiting Hays County that have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing masks.

Medical condition exemptions can include, COPD, asthma, any respiratory ailments, any mental condition such as PTSD, trauma, anxiety, as well as other conditions. These are all examples that qualify for a medical exemption from mask wearing.

Also, when you see someone out and about, please do not make assumptions. Do not assume that maskless folks are rude and uncaring. Do not approach them aggressively, or accost them, or speak to them rudely. They care about the health of their fellow citizens and are doing everything in their power to be respectful, as well as dealing with their respective disabilities.

Please my fellow Hays county residents, let’s be respectful of folks who are different - this includes our friends, fellow store customers, and visitors. Let’s please treat each other as if we are all family and neighbors. Let’s welcome everyone and not exclude anyone.
