Cleaning up Wimberley

Keep Wimberley Beautiful is again sponsoring a roadside cleanup and large item disposal event for free on Saturday, March 18.

The organization has provided this service for the last 3 years in association with the city of Wimberley, Texas Disposal Systems, Adopt-a-Highways and the Wimberley Lions Club. Three large dumpsters were filled to the brim last year, and 150 bags of trash from the roadside cleanup were collected.

Maybe you have seen a lot of trash along certain roads in your part of town that you would like to see cleaned up. For those who wish to volunteer, KWB will provide trash bags, orange vests, gloves and pickers. They will also give assignments on which roads need the most help.

Volunteers will meet between 8 a.m. and noon at Lions Field, across from 601 FM – 2325 where Market the dumpsters, where Lions Club and KWB volunteers will be available to help.

Onsite dumpsters will be available for large items, but no refrigerators, mattresses, tires, hazardous materials or yard/tree limb waste will be accepted. Those wishing to drop off accepted items can drive up to gmail.com.
