Be kind, even in the COVID-19 pandemic

As Professional Educators, we have learned there are two sides to every story, and it’s important to listen to both sides. Both sides, generally, think they are correct in their thinking.

COVID has been a learning experience for all of us. Everyday we learn something new about the virus. We are all doing our best to cope with the virus in the best way we know how.

Pointing fingers, blam ing others, criticizing each other on how the other is dealing with it is not helping anyone. The one thing we can do to make the situation better, is to help each other in their time of need.

What if, instead of putting each other down, we raise each other up!

When someone, stranger, neighbor, friend, foe, is in the midst of dealing with COVID, we reach out to them, and ask them what can I do to help. Bring them a pot of chicken noodle soup, pick up groceries for their family, run to the drugstore to pick up medical needs. These are things that benefit everyone. You feel good about helping someone in their time of need, and they are grateful for your help.

Enough of blaming each other! Enough of allowing the pandemic to divide us!

We all need to change our attitude about blaming others. Instead, let’s make the best of it, and do the kind thing. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Please think about what you post on Social Media, or write in an editorial. Think… is this going to help or hurt? Then do the right thing! David and
