Wimberley Democrats continue to call for Woodcreek Mayor to resign

The mayor of Woodcreek has remained silent to the concerns and demands of the people of Woodcreek and the Wimberley community at large.

She has remained silent to the demands of the Wimberley Democrats who have asked her to apologize for her reckless statements and to step down from her position as Mayor of the City of Woodcreek.

After spreading vile divisive language full of misinformed and blatant lies about the Black Lives Matter Movement, she has remained silent and out of touch with the people.

The Mayor seems to be under the impression that the subject is over simply because she claims on her Facebook posts that she is not racist. This issue is not over and it is definitely not resolved.

“As a citizen of Woodcreek and a spokesperson of the Wimberley Democrats, I was denied a voice and an opportunity to express our beliefs and our concerns” says Laura Ewing of the Wimberley Democrats.

“When the government denies the citizens their First Amendment rights of free speech, peaceable assembly, and petitioning for redress of grievances, the remedy cannot be more suppression of voices, but absolutely no suppression of the public” says Jimmy Alan Hall.

Her statements about the Black Lives Matter movement were misleading and not based in factual information. They were full of language that is used to incite anger and fear. Her statements were irresponsible and not worthy of a community leader.

“It is the free flow of ideas and facts that fuels this country, that raises all boats – not silence,” says Jimmy Alan Hall.

The Wimberley Democrats will continue to seek resolution and would like Mayor Whitehead to retract her misinformed and outrageous claims about the Black Lives Matter movement.

We will continue to ask that she step down from her leadership position as she has not made any attempt to reach out nor substantiate her claims. She has instead, remained silent.

The Wimberley Democrats will continue to seek resolution and continue to inform and educate about the true facts of the movement.

A Mayor cannot simply end the conversation by refusing to talk and refusing to “deal with us.”

We will not be silenced.
