St. Mary’s makes it a Night to Remember
The Community Center had a warm, pleasant atmosphere inside, totally unlike the 100 plus temperatures outside. It would be a night with a recipe that started with fine food such as beef tenderloin or mahi-mahi, soft jazz by the Steve Schoen Trio, mixed in with excellent company, add in that it’s all for a good cause and you have “A Night to Remember.”
Rising funds for Religious Education at St. Mary’s was he purpose of the well planned event. The fine cuisine was just the first step. Tasty food always puts a well-satisfied look on faces. A little dancing followed before the fund raising.
The occasion couldn’t have run more smoothly considering there was also a silent and a live auction. Biddable items such as a French gourmet meal for eight prepared by Father Jason Bonifazi, stays at Cabo San Lucas, Marfa, Fredericksburg, or Marble Falls, spas, shopping trips and even a Hot Air Balloon ride, were offered for bidding.
“I’ve been organizing this event for six months,” Jerry Borges said. His and the efforts of other volunteers made the evening more than just enjoyable, it truly was a night to remember, until next year.
Margot Drussler was the winner of the 2017 Jeep raffle.
