Jerry and Tricia Linklater Fields proved to be consummate hosts for the Home Tour Kick-Off party held at their Wimberley home Nov. 3. Longtime supporters of the Civic Club’s efforts to keep Wimberley vital, the Fields surprised organizers with a $5,000 pledge in addition to underwriting the bar and loaning their private yacht to the auction. During his remarks, Fields praised the efforts of Wimberley EMS for coming to his aid after a recent incident. The Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Dinner emerged in the mid-80s as a simple response to thoughts like, “I don’t have family to get together, or I really don’t want to be around my family. I would rather do Thanksgiving with my friends from town,” said Dave Lewis, 42year Wimberley resident and business owner. The 2022 version marks the 32nd occasion of the dinner, which Lewis and numerous volunteers last hosted at the Wimberley Community Center in 2019 prior to the breakout of COVID.
