Volleyball wins district championship
Wimberley Texan’s powerful volleyball girls clinched the district title last week with a convincing 25-18, 25-21, 25-16 sweep of Bandera on the Bulldogs home court. With the win, the Texans can add the title of District Champions 2018 to their honors.
As reported by coach Stephanie Barthels, Reilley Horn led the way with eight kills while Olivia Linton and Rayna Pack each scored seven. For this match against Bandera, Jordan McFarland again led the team with 21 assists.
“We moved the ball well to our hitters thanks to Jordan’s 21 digs,” Bartels said. “We had a huge night with Payton Knight and Brina Jones getting four blocks each. Our senior leadership was awesome and every player added a positive touch to this match. I’m very proud of these ladies for the hard work they put in each day at practice. That work really shows up on the court!”
