Texans swept by Boerne in finale

An epic regular season finale was on tap for the Wimberley baseball team as they squared off with the Boerne Greyhounds.

In a heated district race, the Texans needed at least one win to stay atop of the district standing come playoffs. But the Greyhounds had other plans.

Boerne was able to sweep the regular season finale against the Texans as the Greyhounds took Game 1 at 10-5 and Game 2 at 10-0.

Because of the two losses against Boerne, the Texans needed at least a Canyon Lake loss to stay tied for second place.

But the Hawks swept the two game series against the Davenport Wolves allowing Canyon Lake to steal second place due their split series against Boerne.

Qualifying for third place, the Texans will take on rival Navarro in a three game home-and-home series in the Bi-District round.

Game 1 is Thursday in Navarro while Game 2 will be Friday at Wimberley with Game 3 being held Saturday at Wimberley if necessary.
