Texans, Lady Texans both get wins

It was a short week for both the Texans and Lady Texans Basketball teams as the two played only one game during the Thanksgiving week.

For the Lady Texans, they traveled to Blanco to take on the Lady Panthers in non-district action.

It was a low scoring affair in the first quarter as the Lady Panthers held a 5-4 lead.

The offenses finally picked up in the second quarter with Blanco scoring 15 points and Wimberley scoring 17.

At halftime, the Lady Texans held a 21-20 lead.

Both Wimberley and Blanco equaled each other’s scores in the third quarter as both teams scored 11 points each, but Wimberley held their lead at 32-31.

The Lady Texans then outscored the Lady Panthers 15-7 in the fourth quarter as Wimberley rolled to a 47-38 victory.

As for the Wimberley Texans, they made the long trip out near the border as the Texans battled the Eagle Pass Eagles.

The Texans raced out to a hot start in the first quarter as Wimberley led 19-10.

In the second quarter, the Texans continued their momentum as they scored another 19 points while holding the Eagles to just 11 as Wimberley took a halftime lead at 38-21.

Eagle Pass made a furious comeback in the third quarter as the Eagles scored 25 points while the Texans scored 19 points.

Heading into the fourth quarter, Wimberley led 57-46.

However, the Texans held off Eagle Pass enough to win 73-58 to improve their record to 3-1 overall.

On tap this week, the Texans will travel to Salado to battle the Eagles before participating in the tournament play.

The Lady Texans will host San Antonio Randolph on Saturday.
