Team tennis heads to Regional Semi Finals

Wimberley Texan Team Tennis is on the way to the Regional Semi Finals after a resounding victory over long-time foe Fredericksburg on Monday afternoon.

Wimberley went on to win 10-4 over the Battlin’ Billies in the Regional Quarter Finals held in Dripping Springs. Fredericksburg has made it to the state tournament in four of the last six seasons.

“We played them in September and beat them,” Coach Lauren Huse said. “The kids got that win and got that confidence… But that is the same thing that stopped us last year. We played Boerne in this round, who we had beat in the district match, and then lost in this round to them. We talked to the kids about that… They knew they could beat (Fredericksburg) today, and they did – real good.”

Wimberley expects to play Tulosa-Midway of Corpus Christi on either Friday or Saturday this week. The location has not yet been determined as of the time of press.
