Next Up: Eastside Memorial

“This week we face Eastside Memorial at home on Friday in our first district game which is also our Homecoming week,” according to Wimberley’s head football coach Doug Warren. “Last week’s bye gave us the opportunity to get rested and for some players to heal. Since this is the first time we’ve played Eastside Memorial, we don’t know much about them other than they are very young. To win, we’ll need to concentrate on improving as a team by cutting down on our mistakes.”

Eastside Memorial was moved into District 28-4A just this year and has not fared well so far in the 2018 season. Last week, the Eastsiders lost 47-0 and bring a record of 0-5 against Wimberley’s 1-4.

The Texans will play four district games in a row, beginning with an away game at Bandera on October 19 then a home game against Navaro on October 26. The regular season closes for the Texans with an away game against Llano on November 2 and a home game on November 9 against Cuero.

This week, the Wimberley Texan home game will also be homecoming, so expect the traditional festivities to lengthen the overall time of the game.
