Lady Texans rack up wins in tournament

It was a successful weekend for the Wimberley Lady Texans Basketball team as they traveled to Coastal Bend to play at the Gregory-Portland Tournament.

In their first game of the tournament on Thursday, the Lady Texans took on the College Station Cougars.

It was a tough battle for the Lady Texans as they fell to the Cougars 56-33.

The Lady Texans moved on from their loss in a showdown of the Texans as Wimberley took on the Corpus Christi Ray Lady Texans.

Wimberley was able to clinch their first win of the tournament as they knocked off Corpus Christi Ray in a 54-27 win.

The Lady Texans looked to continue their momentum in Friday’s game as they battled the Odem Lady Owls.

It was a back and forth affair between Odem and Wimberley, but eventually the Lady Texans were able to overcome the Owls in route to a 66-50 victory.

Wimberley then finished off the tournament play with their game against the Kingsville King Brahmas.

The Texans were able to maintain their lead throughout the game as Wimberley came out with the 59-50 victory.

The Lady Texans return to action Monday night as they travel on the road to Blanco to battle the Panthers.
