Lady Texans play in Wimberley Hoopfest

Over the weekend Wimberley hosted their boys and girls varsity only Hoopfest tournament. Both of the Texans teams were able to make it to the championship game however both would come up short in the final game to take second place in the tournament.

The Lady Texans were also able to go flawless the first two days of the tournament to find themselves in the championship game as well facing off against the Aledo Bearcats (19-7). The Lady Texans offense had a slow start to the game only putting up 16 first half points to find themselves trailing 2816 at halftime. They were able to figure it out in the 3rd quarter and start generating some offense putting up 14 points after the halftime break in the 3rd quarter, however, was unable to cut into the lead as The Bearcats matched them and then some with 16 third quarter points now trailing 44-30. Unfortunately The Texans never found their groove and were unable to fight back into the game in the fourth as they would go on to lose 55-35 and take home second place in their Hoopfest tournament as well.
