Lady Texan basketball falls in season opener

The Lady Texan basketball team lost the season opening game against Navarro 59-38. Navarro jumped out to an early 10-6 lead in the first quarter and expanded the lead in each quarter to follow.

Wimberley was led by junior guard and first year varsity player Grace Harney with 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 24 minutes of play. Junior center and first year varsity player Alex Rushing had six points and seven rebounds. Sophomore forward and varsity returner Emily Thames also contributed four points and five steals. The Lady Texans are still short a few multi-sport players who are currently playing for the volleyball team now headed to the Regional Semi-Final game versus Tuloso-Midway.

The next game will be played at home versus Seguin on November 9
