Wimberley High School freshman Jaxon Donaldson didn’t just qualify for the UIL 4A State Championship Golf Tournament, he showed up ready to win it.
After firing a six-under-par 65 on the first day of the twoday tournament, Donaldson was well positioned for a strong finish on Tuesday. The score was one stroke shy of tying a state record for the lowest 4A score in the first round of a state championship tournament.
The tournament had not finished by the Wimberley View’s time of press on Tuesday.
