    WILLIAM ‘BILL’ DALLAS OSWALT

William ‘Bill’ Dallas Oswalt

After celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in August and his 91st birthday in November, retired Chief Master Sergeant William (Bill) Dallas Oswalt celebrated his homecoming in heaven. He served as a medic in Korea and around the world. He retired as an advisor to the Air National Guard in Portland, Oregon.

He met Iris a registered Air Force nurse in 1950 in Cheyenne, WY. Iris resigned her commission to begin their family. They have six sons, twins Bob (Lyn), Bill (Pam), Pat, Allen (Kelly), David (Pam) and Jon (Maggie).

After his retirement from the military in 1966, Bill completed his bachelor degree culminating with a Doctor of Ministry from Western Seminary. His dissertation became a book entitled Help, I’m Hurting which was a tool he used in his Biblical Counseling practice.

Bill and Iris served in churches in Oregon, Minnesota, and Texas before beginning Alpha Omega, a Biblical Discipleship Counseling Center in the greater Austin and San Antonio areas.

Crazy things we remember; he put his cornbread in a cup and added milk, gaved the “eagle eye” at bad behavior and he always had an outstretched hand for a piece of cake.

Bill led by example; he counseled many, he preached the gospel and he served his country. The evangelist in him would want us to know there is one God, and through His Son, Jesus Christ, we can share eternity with Him.

Bill is survived by his wife, 6 sons, 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Bill comes from a large family and is survived by his brother Joe Oswalt.
