Walter Lofton Lee

Walter Lofton Lee, 86, died November 25, 2019, following an incredibly wonderful life.

He leaves his wife of 31 years, Rhonda Lee, children David, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Chris, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Lorene, brother R.C., sisters June and Ruth, daughter Laurie, nephew Ronnie, and niece Theresa.

He was born in Houston, TX, and grew up in the Denver Harbor section. He graduated from Milby High School, attended Del Mar College, and graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College on a basketball scholarship. He served in the Marine Reserves from 1956-64.

He worked at Champion Paper Company for 20 years as Manager of Industrial Relations, and 20 years at Litwin Engineering as V.P. of Personnel and Organization Development. He was a consultant, speaker, and panel member for various conferences and seminars on personnel, labor relations, and equal opportunity employment.

He was an avid sports fan (Longhorns and Aggies) and was an accomplished basketball player. He achieved All-State accolades in college and played for various leagues in and around the Houston area well into his 50s.

He retired in 1998 and settled in Wimberley. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast, traveling many miles over the years in the Houston and Wimberley areas on his beloved Harleys. He was an active member of the Oak Hill Primitive Baptist Church.

Walter was an outgoing person who loved his family. He always greeted family and friends with his infectious smile and wonderful sense of humor. He was loved and admired by so many and will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019, 3PM at Thomason Funeral Home, in Wimberley, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oak Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
