Vincente Martinez

Vicente E. Martinez, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed peacefully among loved ones on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the age of 86 in Wimberley, Texas.

Born in Matehuala, Mexico, Vicente brought his family to Wimberley over 50 years ago. He became a beloved fixture of the community and could often be seen working with horses and providing lawn and landscape work.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Maria. Their three sons Raudel (Katherine) Martinez, Carlos (Kimberly) Martinez, and Rene Martinez. Daughter Christina (Nick) Andrews. Also, twelve grandchildren (Stephanie, Megan, Vincent, Reilly, Elisabeth, Gavin, Brayden, Tillman, Isabella, Roman, Soloman and Chapman), 2 great grandchildren (Travis and Bennett) and a large, loving extended family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley, with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church of Wimberley, followed by interment at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
