    RAMONA LYNN WATSON

Ramona Lynn Watson

August 4, 1929 –– October 24, 2021

Ramona Lynn Watson, born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 4, 1929, passed comfortably and surrounded by family on October 24, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford Everett and Anna Elizabeth Watson, and her sister Ruth Suter.

She is survived by her son Joe (Cyndy) Carpenter (Englewood FL.), her daughter Joyce (Roger) Jones (Wimberley, TX.), seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Four generations of loving adoration.

“Moni” was raised in Memphis, where she also reared her children, worked, and worshipped. She attended Highland Street Church of Christ, and Collierville Church of Christ as the family later moved. Later in life she migrated westward to the Hill Country of Texas, spending her last years surrounded by several generations and cherishing frequent visits from across the country.

Moni was at her core, a caregiver and servant to others. She lived alongside her beloved mother for many years until her passing at 102. She was a fixture in the lives of the following generations, always making the day fun and full. A lasting image, for her family would be Moni camping in her VW van at a state park surrounded by nature, bicycling, grandkids, a campfire, and the sound of Willie Nelson.

Moni was a resident at Deercreek nursing Home in Wimberley . She had many friends there and she loved the staff there. Her family lived close by and were regularly visiting Moni.

She connected with people at the heart, and never seemed too focused on herself. Those in her sphere felt her love through her touch or mere presence.

Her last years brought some health challenges, but nothing she wasn’t up for. Her vibrance was matched by her grit, and here twilight years were happy, reflective, and as always, she found a way to keep laughing through it all. And so, Moni’s trail doesn’t end. We know she is busy making things better on the other side.
