Lula Ann Gold-Allen

Lula Ann Gold-Allen was born in San Marcos, Texas on September 27, 1940 and joined her husband of 61 years, Frank Allen, in Heaven on May 3, 2021, at the age of 80.

Ann met her high school sweetheart in San Marcos, where they were married on Valentine’s Day in 1958. They moved to Wimberley, where Ann’s roots were deep with her Gold and Winters family ancestry, where they raised their two children, Reagan and Garrett.

Ann had many hobbies, including bowling, playing cards (poker), needle work, board games, watching baseball and spending time with her family and friends.

Ann spent many years as a Special Education Aide with the Wimberley School district where she was loved by students and her colleagues.

Ann was tough, a straight shooter and had a great sense of humor. She often commented that she was more like her father than her mother, which meant you never had a question about what was on her mind or where she stood on any issue. Which is one of the things that made her special and loved by so many.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Leroy Allen, a son Franklin Leroy Allen Jr., her parents Herman Albert Gold and wife Fannie, her brother Clarence “Sonny” Gold and wife Laurel, and her sister Susie Gold-Adams and her husband Aaron Adams.

She is survived by two sons, Reagan Allen and Garrett Allen and his wife Cari, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and their spouses, as well as multiple other special friends and family who were dear to her.
