Lois Knight Clark

Lois Knight Clark passed away at age 85 on March 26, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas. Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, she was the daughter of dairy farmers Barney and Alma Knight. While raising three kids she graduated valedictorian from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. After teaching art and other various occupations she went to work for the Texas Department of Adult Protective Services and eventually transferred to Austin where she worked until her retirement in 1997.

Lois loved the hill country, having found her piece of paradise in Wimberley in 1987, and was a member of several local organizations including New Neighbors, the Graduates, Dinner Club, Garden Club among others. She also was an avid reader and volunteered at the Wimberley Library for many years. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like spending time with family, friends, and her beloved kitties. She enjoyed gardening (as much as the local deer would allow), antiquing, travel near and far, music, art history and art events all over the hill country. She also created beautiful hand-built, pitfired pottery in her studio. She will be remembered for her kindness, sharp wit and sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her parents Barney and Alma Knight, her older sister Joy Knight Allard, and her son Keven Knight Clark. She is survived by her daughters Shawn Abbott and Shannon Clark, her grandsons Will Clark and Taylor Abbott, and her great-granddaughter Zamora Mejia.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time when family and friends can safely gather together to reminisce about her life and legacy of memories.
