    LARRY LEON BURRIS, SR.

Larry Leon Burris, Sr.

The books are closed. The stories and jokes are silent. The “Willie Nelson” CDs are stacked for someone else to enjoy.

Larry “Leon” Burris passed away in his home on January 9, 2020, after a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He will be lovingly missed.

Leon was born in Decatur, Texas on July 31, 1942 to Allison and Dorothy Burris. He moved to Port Lavaca, Texas, at age seven and lived there until high school graduation. He attended the University of Houston and South Texas College of Law, where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. He practiced civil law in Houston for many years. Wimberley became his final home so that he and his wife, Alice, could be closer to their children and grandchildren and enjoy Wimberley and the beautiful hill country.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, his children, Andrea Andreassen and husband, J.R. and Lucas Burris and wife, Frances. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Leon “Oskar” Andreassen, Lucien Burris, William Burris, and Nyssa Burris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allison Burris and Dorothy Fisher, and two sons, Larry Burris and Loren Burris.

He will be cremated and buried at the Wimberley Cemetery at a later date.

The family wants to thank Bluebonnet Palliative Care and Visiting Angels for their kind and loving care.
