Katherine Carol Williams

November 5, 1938 — March 9, 2022

Katherine Carol Williams, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, after a brief illness. Carol was proceeded in death by her husband of over fifty years Daniel and parents, Frank and Mildred Burger. She leaves behind her daughters, Lori Wells and Kari Riemer, sons-in-law Sam Wells and Jonathan Riemer, and her three grandchildren, Eric and Samantha Wells and Zoe Riemer.

Born November 5, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, Carol graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1956 and married the love of her life, Dan, on August 22, 1957.

Carol worked as a librarian most of her adult life, first at Hook Elementary School and then at Troy High School in Troy, Ohio and then at the University of Texas at Austin serving as the Assistant to the Director of the Barker Texas History Center.

After her retirement, Carol moved with Dan to Wimberley over 30 years ago. She was active in both the Women’s Guild and Civic Club, serving as President in 1996.

Carol and Dan lived in many wonderful places in their lives together, but they felt most at home in Wimberley.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 18 at Chapel in the Hills church in Wimberley. In lieu of flowers, Carol requested that donations be made in her name to the Wimberley Animal Group.
