    JOY LANE

Joy Lane

Joy Lane, of Wimberley,Tx, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 31st, 2021, two weeks after her 94th birthday. Joy died peacefully, with her nieces at her side, after a one week cancer diagnosis. She faced her fate with her usual grace and dignity. She was able to come home to her beloved Wimberley for her final journey.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, JC (Jake) and Rebecca Lane, Sister Dot Lane Berry and brother-in-law Duane Berry. JC brought the family to Wimberley in 1931.

Joy loved her family and friends. She loved baking treats for those special to her. She never met a stranger. Her varied interests included music, celebrities, cars (especially her 1968 GTO), books, authors and all of the history that came with these things.

Joy worked for many years at State Bank and Trust in San Marcos,Texas, and retired as a Vice President in 1984.

Joy is survived by her nieces Dana Lombard (Milton) and Dawn Wells (Jim); great nieces Lindsay Kennedy, Lacey Peyton (Price), Jenna Wells; great nephews Jake Wells (Wexia), and Josh Wells. Although Joy never had children of her own, she was devoted to her nieces and their families. She is also survived by 8 great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

The family would like to express their gratitude to those who helped to make it possible for Joy to spend her final days in Wimberley; Kindred Hospice, Steve Klepfer and Chris Oddo.

A big thank you to Cindy Franklin, longtime friend and neighbor to the Lang family for providing the location for Joy’s future celebration of life, date to be announced.

If anyone wishes to honor her memory, Joy would simply want you to share your love and time with those you care about.
