    DONALD JOSEPH BISETT

Donald Joseph Bisett

On Friday, April 10, 2020, Donald Joseph Bisett passed away at age 90 in San Antonio, Texas. Don was born May 21, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and cherished his childhood with family in Rolla, Missouri. Don applied his many talents across a life that proudly included cowboy, rodeo announcer, photographer, hunting guide, auctioneer, and third generation professional in the oil business. On retirement, Don and his life’s love, Billie Marie Riquelmy Bisett, moved from their farm in Ledbetter, Texas to Wimberley, Texas. Don was proudly recognized as 2018 Volunteer of the Year for Shared Beat, Inc., a non-profit group of doctors, nurses, and volunteers providing medical services to children and families in Guatemala. Residing in his final year at Poet’s

Walk, a dementia facility in San Antonio, Don firmly believed that “The Old Man” gave him a beautiful home on a 13,000 acre ranch with room for all his friends and family. He was packed and ready to go for months. He is survived by his sister Lynette Wells and husband David Wells, sister Carol Aulbach and husband Charles Aulbach, son, David Bisett and wife, Terri Burney-Bisett, daughter Marie Berkenkamp and fiancee, Lynn Cornelius, son Mark Bisett and wife Donette Bisett, son Kennard Bisett, his grandchildren James Bisett, Daniel Bisett, Tonie Staton, Erin Berkenkamp, Bryan Berkenkamp, and Seth Bisett, and a host of loving great-grand children, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Don’s ashes will be spread at the Missouri family farm. The family appreciates the care provided by the staff of Poet’s Walk. Donations in his memory can be made at www.sharedbeat.org.
