Cloyd James Combs

Cloyd James Combs passed away from Liver Cancer on Saturday, November 9th at Orchard Park Assisted Living in Kyle, TX. Jim died just a few short hours from his 88th birthday.

Born in Tropic, Utah November 10th, 1931 to James Arthur Combs and Leona Baugh Combs. Jim was an only child but raised along side his cousin Clayton. Upon graduation from Jordon High School near Salt Lake City, he entered the Navy. He specialized in Electrical Engineering.

Jim graduated from University of Nevada, Reno. Shortly afterwards, he married Patricia Ann Smith from Boise, ID. Obtaining a position with the Federal Aviation Admiration, he worked in several locations, Fairbanks, Alaska, Washington, DC., and Fort Worth, TX. After retiring from the FAA, he went onto work for Martin Marietta specializing in Satellite installations.

Jim spent the last twenty years of his life working on solar and water powered inventions. He attended Wimberley Presbyterian Church.

Jim is survived by his four children, Cindy Combs Asselborn, Brad Combs, Jim Combs, and Dustin Combs. He also has several family members in and around Tropic, Utah.

The Memorial service will be held 1pm Tuesday, November 26th at Wimberley Presbyterian Church.
