Charles Edward Wiedman

Master craftsman and award-winning furniture designer Charles Edward Wiedman passed away on March 21, 2019 at the age of 73. His last moments were peaceful as he was comforted at home by his family.

Charles was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on May 27, 1945 to Ed and Edith (Hansen) Wiedman. After graduating from Norfolk Senior High School in 1963, he continued his education at Wayne State College in Wayne, NE.

He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lyons on April 9, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE. They had two children, Charles Edward Wiedman II and DaNelle Lea Wiedman.

Charles moved his family to the Central Texas Hill Country in 1972 where he perfected the fine art of woodworking. He won several awards for his furniture and was honored to be featured twice in Fine Woodworking Magazine.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ed and Edith (Hansen) Wiedman of Norfolk, NE.

Left to mourn are his wife Linda, his son Charles and wife Katherine, his daughter, DaNelle, and his grandchildren: Chelsea, Bailey, Cade, and Charlie, and great grandson, Ryder.

Charles also leaves behind his sister Kathryn Wiedman (Dave) of Joliet, Illinois, sister-in-law Stacia Stark of Norfolk, NE as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The memorial service will be announced at a later date.
