Anne Stowe

Anne Forster (Heffner) Stowe, 86, of Woodcreek, Texas, was welcomed home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. She was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1934, to Thomas F. Heffner and Blanche A. (Hawkins) Heffner. She was wife to Judge James A. Stowe, Jr. They shared 49 years of love and marriage.

Anne retired after 10 and a half years of dedicated service with the City of San Marcos. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, helpful heart, and feisty spirit.

She was a 38-year member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wimberley. She spent many years serving our Lord in the church choir. Her faith and church community brought much joy to her life.

She was a long-time member of the Wimberley Community Chorus. She loved to sing, perform and dance. As well, she loved spending time in the yard with her many plants and traveling with her husband and dog Maddie.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Timothy.

Her family was what brought her the most joy. She is survived by her husband; brothers Robert and Peter Heffner; daughter Lisa Helm; grandchild whom she raised Krystal (Justin) Chappell; stepchildren John Stowe and family and Sherry Leisure and family; grandchildren Jim Helm IV and Candice (Benjamin) Forrest; and great-grandchildren Cory Blake, Mason Jay and Hallee Paige Chappell, Kenten Hawkins and Ari Forrest.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley, Texas, followed by a service at 10 a.m. Her final resting place will be at the St. Stephen’s cemetery, with interment following the service.
