Wimberley Valley Election Results 2020

Hays County set new voting records with 109,386 votes cast in the General Election in 2020. Hays County also proved to be rather bipartisan with Democrats and Republicans trading wins back and forth up and down the ballot.

More than 71% of registered voters cast a ballot in Hays County.

At this point, voting totals are unofficial. Absentee ballots can still arrive at the election office on November 3 while military ballots can still arrive for a few more days.

In the Presidential election, Hays County residents voted 54.28% for Joe Biden and 43.47% for Donald Trump.

In local elections, Prop A, the Hays County Parks Bond, passed easily with 69.54% of the vote in favor.

In the closest countywide race, Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler eked out a victory over challenger Alex Villalobos with 50.97% of the vote.

State Representative Erin Zwiener held off challenger Carrie Isaac by taking in 52.29% of the vote.

Lon Shell led challenger Lisa Prewitt for Hays County Commissioner Precinct 3 with 52.04% of the vote.

Don Montague ran away with the race for Hays County Constable Precinct 3 over Cynthia Millonzi with 64.4% of the vote.

For the 453rd District Court, Sherri Tibbe defeated David Junkin with 52.34% of the vote.

Millie Thompson defeated Tacie Zelhart in the race for County Court-at-law No. 3 with 51.38% of the vote. Jenifer O’Kane defeated Daphne Tenorio for the spot as Hays County Tax Assessor with 50.7% of the vote.

For local city races, Woodcreek elected four new council members. There were three full two-year terms up for election. The top three candidates receiving votes win the three seats. Jeff Rasco received the most votes with 501, which was 23.53% of the vote. Aurora LeBun receieved 428 votes, which was 20.10%, and Judy Brizendine received 411 votes, which was 19.3% to round out the expected new council members. Nancye Britner received 400 votes and Vicki Alvord received 389.

Woodcreek also elected one councilmember for a one-year unexpired term. Bob Hambrick defeated Chrys Grummert with 557 votes, which was 56.38 percent, to Grummert’s 431 votes, which was 43.62%.

For Wimberley ISD Place 6, Lexi Jones defeated Gretchen Holtsinger with 51.37 percent of the vote. Ken Strange was re-elected as he was unopposed.

Christy Williams defeated Bob Larsen for the Barton Springs Edward Aquifer Conservation District Board of Directors with 77.93% of the vote. Linda Kaye Rogers was re-elected to the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District with 54.7% of the vote over Mark Key.
