‘Protect Our Hill Country’ series starts this weekend

The free four event Friends of Blue Hole 2020 Learning Series on preserving Hill Country land, water and open spaces starts Friday with the seminar One Water: Cutting Costs and Protecting Our Aquifers Now – Language. Strategies. Practices, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 14068 Ranch Rd 12. Registration is required by noon Thursday to insure seating and the free lunch. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.

A newly updated agenda and speakers or activates list for all four events is at www.learningevent.friendsofbluehole.org under Protecting Our Hill Country.

The latest speaker addition to this Friday’s seminar is Stormwater Management specialist Fouad Jaber, Ph.D., P.E., Biological and Agricultural Engineering Dept., Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service.

The first three events of the series are free learning seminars, with leading experts and lunch provided. The second seminar is Friday Mar. 27, also at the Wimberley Community Center: Preserving Hill Country Open Spaces Now. The third seminar, Saturday, April 18, moves to The Pavilion at Blue Hole Regional Park: The Nature in Humanity – The Humanity in Nature.

The fourth free event, April 25, is Blue Hole Park’s first Earthfest! in Blue Hole Regional Park with attractions such as the annual Return of the Raptors – Birds of Prey, an exhibition by the Buffalo Soldiers of Texas Parks and Wildlife, and many activities and learning opportunities for the whole family.
