This year’s Smooch is in a box

The Rotary Club’s Smooch has been a yearly Valentine’s night event of dancing, drinks, live music, hors d’oevres and mingling with friends. It’s Wimberley Rotary’s big fundraiser of the year. Sponsoring high school scholarships and helping young readers across the valley is what the club is about.

Needless to say, currently the virus has canceled and stopped events since last March. So what to do to live up to their motto ‘Rotary of Wimberley loves Readers?’ Keep the Smooch date and wrap it up all pretty in a box to take to your valentine.

“The box is 12 inches by 12 inches which includes wine, candles, chocolates, a suggested playlist of romantic music and a love coupon,” said, Rotary Coordinator Carrie Campbell.

Rotary of Wimberley, during a regular non-Covid year, sponsors many events in the community giving back.

•Halloween Trick-or-Read –700 books to children trick-or-treating

•Little Free Libraries - These small, weatherized boxes of books around town are co-sponsored with the Wimberley Village Library

The Smooch Valentine’s Boxes can be picked up at A Fit Plan on February 12 and 13. The Smooch box is $40 and contains all that’s needed for a valentines night to remember. Hackett Financial and Ozona Bank are sponsors among other local organizations.
