Winter Wonderland planned

The Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce announces the 2018 Wimberley Winter Wonderland, a holiday event that will be spreading holiday cheer on November 16th and 17th at the Wimberley Community Center.

Our community center will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland with dazzling decorated holiday trees along with Thanksgiving and Christmas wreaths and centerpieces. All of which have been sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals. Discover your favorite and make a silent auction bid to bring that very special holiday display back to your home or business.

The event kicks-off with an Adults Only Happy Hour with free wine, refreshments and live music from 4 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday. It’s the first opportunity to stroll along the creative and uniquely decorated holiday displays that are sure to delight.

On Saturday this decked out wonderland will also feature holiday music, refreshments, food trucks, holiday shopping, a life size dancing turkey and opportunities to visit Santa.

Santa will be there for the children and holiday photos can be taken with him from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

A life size dancing turkey is being provided by the Crisis Bread Basket. Young and old alike will enjoy taking a twirl with our dancing turkey offering photo opportunities for family and friends. Non-perishable food items and monetary donations will be collected to help stock up the Crisis Bread Basket pantry for the holidays.

“This is our third year for our Wimberley Winter Wonderland and we are delighted about this upcoming community event” said Cathy Moreman, Executive Director of the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Our wintery wonderland has free admission and is guaranteed to get everyone in the holiday spirit.”

Jerri Roberts, from AA Care Services and Chairman of the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce Board, is serving as this year’s chairperson for the event and says, “Wimberley does such a fantastic job offering numerous holiday events for our community. Our wonderland is designed for family fun along with giving local businesses an opportunity to showcase their services and products. We are also very pleased to have the Crisis Bread Basket participating again at this year’s event.”

Join the Winter Wonderland festivities on Friday, November 16, 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 17, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Santa will be available for photos noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information call the chamber at (512) 847-2201.
