Winter’s Eve on the Wimberley Square

If Wimberley has one event that the whole town turns out for, that would be Winters Eve. The word “winter” conjures up the feeling of cold, brisk weather, which in some previous years would be the exact terms to use.

But on Saturday, Winters Eve could not have been more agreeable weather-wise after a gorgeous day. After finding out the night before that the football team would be going to State, it couldn’t have been better.

Tourists and locals looked at the wares at each business. Shopping was brisk, with everyone trying to get their card stamped to hopefully win some prizes and others just enjoyed seeing old and maybe new friends on the Square.

Music was also all around, from bridge to bridge on Ranch Road 12. As always at Winters Eve, Santa did not disappoint by making sure each child was nice and not naughty and perhaps what would they like for Christmas. The Merchants Association provided free-take home pictures for everyone, capturing that moment at Christmas 2019.

Some say that the season is for the children. After seeing so many friends of all ages and the smiles on their faces, deep down inside, it is clear that when you attend Winters Eve, the wonder of the season makes everyone in the community feel like a kid again.
