Winter’s Eve this weekend

Winter’s Eve is the annual Christmas Wimberley Merchants Association event that is their gift to the community.

“This year is the twelfth year for Winter’s Eve festival for the community and visitors. It’s a little Christmas cheer. It used to be the street dance and we decided to take things back. On Saturday the 14th, from 5 to 9 p.m.,” Merchants Association president Craig Calley said. He continued.

“There will be eleven musical performances on 8 or 9 stages all throughout the town, bridge to bridge, from the Community Center to Shop the Treehouse,” he said. As for prizes, that will be different also.

Each person will receive a card that has to be punched by ten businesses, and then you can enter a raffle for a prize from individual merchants, such as earrings from Calley’s Jewelry, gift cards or baskets provided by other merchants.

“It provides more foot traffic and you might possibly visit a business that you have not visited before.”

Santa will also be on hand “to give back to the children,.” He wil be located across from the River House with free instant pictures of your child’s visit with Santa Claus.”

This year there will not be any food or beverage trucks as there are now plenty of restaurants on the Square to purchase from. As for food, there will be popcorn to pizza, and each merchant will be responsible for wine and other snacks.

Here is a list of the musical performers and the stage on which they appear.
