Wimberley VFW Post, community honor veterans
VFW’s Post 6441 holds an annual luncheon for veterans and their families the Saturday before Veteran’s Day on 11/11. Old and new faces were there at the VFW Hall on this Saturday enjoying each other’s company. The Boy Scouts were there serving up the bar-be-que with the veterans beaming from ear to ear recalling their years of military service. Live music was the entertainment and there was a representative of the Texas Veterans Commission ready to answer questions and help any veteran they could help.
There were old and new members of the VFW present. Randy Dowdy is the newest member, having been in the VFW only two days. It was a good gathering and the comradeship and esprit de corps were on view at the hall again this year.
