Wimberley Market Days is the cool place to be

On Saturday, August 4, Wimberley Market Days goes nose to nose with the dog days of summer with great deals and ways to get chill. Red-tag vendors will be barking up “the saving’s tree” with sale prices between 25 – 50% off summer clearance items. The Wimberley Lions Club will provide several ways to beat the Texas heat, including offering free handheld fans, available at both information booths and at each concession stand. A dozen coupons, tucked into 12 directories, can be redeemed at any concession stand for a free menu item.

Ice-cold water will be sold at all concession stands, at the information table at Gate 3, and from the mobile concession, “Café a la Cart.” Other summer-time treats, like root-beer floats, will be sold at Concession 3, known as the “Smile Station.” Concession manager, Lion Doug McLean said, “We are known for Ice Cream, which is why we are called the ‘Smile Station.’ We sell smiles and make people happy.” Also, refreshing Wimberley coolers will be sold at the Hill Top Ice House.

For their convenience, parents or grandparents can rent a baby-stroller at Booth 6, near Gate 1. The courtesy cart can be arranged at the information tables for visitors with mobility needs. And, rent a push-cart for $5.00 a day. As always, the team of haulers will transport shoppers and their purchases to their cars.

Every Market Days presents live music beginning around 11:00 a.m. on each of 3 stages. Young & Rusty headline at the Pavilion Stage. Patrick Green performs on the Hill Top Stage. And, Monte Good plays at the Shady Grove Stage.

Wimberley Lions Club Market Days happens on the first Saturday of each month, March through December, rain or shine. August’s shopping hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Find this festive marketplace at Lions Field, off FM 2325, about a mile from the Wimberley Square. There is ample parking in the 3 Lions Club lots with those donations serving the Wimberley community through grants and scholarships. Look for the feathery, red, white and blue banners at the two Lions Club lots across from Lions Field and the third lot on the left, (passed the car wash,) heading toward the high school.
