Wimberley Gold Santa giving back to community

Wimberley Gold Santa is back in action as part of their effort to help children and families who are in need.

A nonprofit organization created by Sonny and Laurel Gold, for the past 14 years Wimberley Gold Santa helps by providing children not only from Wimberley ISD but also children in the surrounding area from Kindergarten through eighth grade toys and grocery gift cards to their families.

On average the organization helps near 125 families and 300 kids with an average donation of between $8,000-$10,000 per year.

However due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Gold Santa has had to change tactics.

In order to keep families safe from the ongoing virus, Gold Santa has opted to accept cash donations in order to provide those families with a gift card in order for them to shop during the Holiday season.

Gold Santa has also decided to keep this process going for the 2021 season as the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to affect many families and volunteers.
