WIC scholarships, new museum hours
The Wimberley Institute of Cultures presented the Bill Johnson Scholarships of $1,000 each to two graduating WHS seniors, Luthary Segura and Kyla Ann Simpson. (See other scholarship winners on page 4) Luthary will attend Trinity University and Kyla Ann will attend Texas A&M in the fall.
Like most of Wimberley, the WIC is shaking off the dust accumulated during the pandemic and is slowly opening up with new hours for the museum.
“The Wimberley Valley Museum will begin opening with docents/volunteers in June. Our plan is to have the museum manned on the first Saturday each month, and the Friday before that day. That will match up with Market Day when there are a lot of people in town.” John Poe, WIC Vice-President and Treasurer.
In June, the days open with volunteers/docents on duty are June 4 and June 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
