WHS competes in Texas High School BBQ Championships

Over the weekend, May 3 and 4, the 2019 High School BBQ Championship was held in Burnet. The High School BBQ Cookers Association is a 501(c)(3) non profit educational organization was the sponsor of the event. The teams that competed were from across the state and Wimberley High School competed.
“Freshmen Guy Massey and Mark Western aka The Smokin’ Texans made the final table at the Texas High School BBQ championship finishing 17th in beans and 15th in Ribs out of 67 teams,” Advisor and Ag teacher Jason Giesen said.
Competitors filled the parking lot at Burnet High School for the 2019 High School Barbecue Championship. The Smokin’ Texans, namely Guy Massy and Mark Western, also built their competion BBQ pit.
