Walkin’ in Wimberley’s Winter Wonderland

Over 700 people attended the Winter Wonderland put on by the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Center over the weekend. The two day event included Santa, 12 vendors selling a variety of times, more than 50 wreaths, centerpieces and Christmas trees were donated by businesses, organizations and individuals. Each item was available for bidding through a silent auction that benefited the Visitor’s Center, Chamber and Crisis Bread Basket. Three People’s Choice Awards for the best holiday décor item were determined. All three winners were full size Christmas trees: 1st Place – “Canine Christmas” provided by Artist Kim Springer-Smith and chamber board member Karen Poe 2nd Place - “A Merry Cheery Christmas” provided by Wimberley Community Civic Club and created by Tracy Calamari 3rd Place – “Nature at It’s Best” provided by Wimberley United Methodist Church. The raffle tree – valued at $1200 – was won by Victor Angeletti.
